Benevedez is a GENERATIONAL TALENT

I need to see more. I know he’s improved and avenged his loss but he did lose to Gavril and was dropped in that fight. A generational talent would not lose that fight so I need to see more of him and against better opposition than he has been in with.Comment

Not saying Benavidez isn't capable of be great or is not a generational talent, but let's see him fight in a division he has no business being in, be the way smaller fighter with physical disadvantages, and see what he is really made of before we get carried away.
Canelo went from Walterweight to LHW, that is 28lbs, and fought the best or if not one of the bests at LHW.
If Benavidez is so great, let's see him try his luck against Mairis Briedis where he gives up a little of his physical advantages and not even by much, or let's see him clear LHW. Maybe he can do both but it's too early to tell.Last edited by ReggieKray; 05-22-2022, 06:45 AM.Comment

I am a HUGEEE David Benavidez fan. The most exciting young fighter in the world. Benavidez is only 25. He is going to have a legendary and exciting career imo.Comment

canelo wasnt chasing greatness lol, he moved up because it was easier to hit them big plodders whereas at 154 he was having serious issues against the likes of lara and trout who, whislt being decent fighters, were way off p4p top 10 level talent. he looked like a monster beating up them slow plodders at 168, not so much against someone light on their feet and hard to hit. there was never any pressure for canelo to keep moving up, in fact people wanted him to stay at 160 after the ggg fights to fight charlo and andrade but he wouldnt, he fancied the job against rocky fielding instead. if he had stayed at 160 he wouildnt even be talked about these days cause charlo and andrade would have beat him easyNot saying Benavidez isn't capable of be great or is not a generational talent, but let's see him fight in a division he has no business being in, be the way smaller fighter with physical disadvantages, and see what he is really made of before we get carried away.
