I dont understand the whole weight complaining thing. If a fighter can make the weight then that's their weight class. Usyk is the unified heavyweight champion and obviously he cut weight to be undisputed at Cruiserweight but there's nothing wrong with that. It's called putting in the work.

What is this then? 12:30 seconds since the ****** time tag thing doesn't work on this embed format.

169 pounds ain't super middle weight.
He didn't miss weight. Contracted weight was 169 since it was no longer a WBC-sanctioned fight. Davis and his team all publicly acknowledged the contract limit immediately after the weigh-in.

Nope, it is called 'The Toxic Weight draining culture'.

Which is a modern phenomenon in the sport.

It is one of the reasons why? I do not rate the competition in the lower weight divisions as pure in comparison to the Heavyweight Division 'In the Heavyweight Division we know what we are watching, no catch weights, no re-hydration clauses just two fighters who have trained to fight'.

'In the lower weight divisions within this modern era, you have a bunch of fighters who all weight drain themselves in varying degree's, some more extreme than others'.

From what I have gather Benavidez is a fighter who uses these tactics in preparation to the extreme 'I personally just don't think it is good for any fighter long term to have this sort of training life style'. And I am not just singling out Benavidez.

The toxic weight draining culture is a modern phenomenon in the sport 'It never existed during the era's of boxing, which used the same day weigh in rule'.

Usyk I don't think was weight draining himself extensively to make the 200 pound weight limit 'Usyk has had to body build his way into the Heavyweight division'.

Fighters can only maintain this sort of training lifestyle for a certain period 'Before it back fires'.

Note: These tactics where always going to appear, the day before weigh in rule 'As influenced fighters to exploit this area of preparation'.

You only have to research yourself, and watch documentaries on how fighters weight drain themselves 'It is not good for them as fighters, and that is why I refer to it as a Toxic Weight draining culture'.
