Here's why I want Kambosos to win, and it has nothing to do with favorites but everything to do with boxing politics and Top Rank. If Haney wins, Gustavo Lemos and his manager are going to sue to enforce their IBF mandatory position. There will be no rematch. He's also stated that he will not take any step-aside money. However, Lemos' team doesn't want to fight Haney, preferring to fight Rivera. The plan is to get Haney to drop the IBF belt, which Arum will make happen because Lemos is not a money fight, and this will cause the first cracks in the undisputed fights. The belts will soon be scattered to the four corners of the world.
If Kambosos wins, however, then he will absolutely defend his belt against Lemos, probably in Australia again. The belts are maintained, and then there's a high probability that Lomachenko returns to fight Kambosos (or Lemos). This will also entail a fight occurring stateside between Kambosos and Lomachenko. If that's the case, then I'll be able to go and see it.
So this is part of the boxing politics set to ruin everything and scatter the belts again. It sucks. So I'm hoping Kambosos wins so we can keep this undisputed (best fighting the best) rollercoaster running.
