No idea if this rumor is true or not but with Showtime having just invested heavily in Boots and needing to get him in with a credible opponent, I could imagine a scenario where they could go to Thurman and say if you don't take this fight you won't be fighting on our network period in order to force his hand...

Thurman would fight Broner before Ennis.
Because he is with less options than before. He isnt really in any position to be picky about fights cuz he isnt that relevant anymore. But with a fight against a high profile prospect like Ennis, he is right back in the mix if he wins.

Thurman ain't signing for this until Spence-Crawford is announced.

If the fight falls apart, Keith will get one of those guys 100%. 147 isn't deep enough. One guy will get Thurman, one guy will get either the shell of Adrian Broner or Danny Garcia.

If Thurman-Crawford happens, Thurman definitely has to beat another name to get the shot. At that point I can see the Boots fight happening.

If true, that means PBC sees Thurman as a gatekeeper now and he'll likely never see another title shot. Especially if he loses to Ennis, which is likely.

Yep boots beats up Keith. Keith can try to talk all smart but he hasnt exactly been active and He cant take body shots or fight on the insiode. Ennis beats him at any range and is bigger.

Love it. Perfect test and gives Ennis a massive boost in terms of notoriety if he wins.

Unfortunately I agree. Thurman just wants to cash out at this point in his career.

Thurman was in a different position, right especially considering how Spence feels about him, this his only way to get the 147 strap. He kinda has no choice

But at least Thurman is a step up in competition.

It isn't fighting Conor Benn though.

                    Nor Virgil Jr.
Vergil and Conor Benn > Thurman?

I wish Espinoza had the balls to do that.
