What do you mean? Lemieux was about to die if it went on any longer. Lemieux has a ton of heart, that's why it took so long. He'll go out on his shield every time. It was definitely not a soft TKO. He was dropped a couple times before the stoppage.

Every round look like this, with Lemieux hair whipping back and forth:

LeMule needs to take this unavoidable Loss at the hands of Benny and hang ‘em up. Nothing left to prove buddy. I’m really sorry you signed for this fight bc you are getting the beating of your life more than likely

Alcine and Saunders both outboxed him.

Benevidez is the biggest fighter Lemieux has ever fought, he’s also the strongest. He’s young, in his prime and has never lost. He’s also tremendously skilled, there is a famous video of him getting the better of middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik in sparring at only 16 years old. David is literally a boxing phenom. Obese fat kid to world champion in a few years.

Lemieux is battle worn, has very, very limited skills and has been stopped twice already.

Im a Lemieux fan. I live 1 hour from him in Montreal and have watched him fight and train since he was 13 years old and with Russ Anber. I know people that have worked with him, trained him and trust me everyone says the same thing…Lazy, undisciplined, poor skills. What he does have is heart and a big punch.

BUT…to recap…Benavidez is the biggest, strongest, best skilled boxer he’s ever fought….
it’s a 90-10 fight for Benavidez. if Lemieux won it would be one of the biggest upsets in modern boxing history.
          I don’t necessarily disagree

But to call it one of the biggest upsets in modern boxing history is a bit sensational. Benevidez whilst a good fighter, isn’t currently that highly regarded. He has potential, but that’s all at the moment. Lemieux is also a former world champion at 160, who can crack. Him winning is unlikely but it’s possible

Benavidez has some good momentum going, but he can be hit, and he's been caught with coke in his system after fights.
The ego is usually the most out-of-control thing about a fighter, and he has a dangerous level of it going these days.
Not saying Lemieux wins, but IMO it will be very competitive, and if lemieux connects, it can be a game changer in seconds...
even if he doesn't have the best boxing skills.

I favor Benavidez but the odds aren't that wide imo. Lemieux' on a 5-fight winning streak and has lost only twice in the last 7 years. He can still crack, is relatively young, and has experience that Benavidez might be lacking. This is the type of fight that'll benefit Benavidez and one in which Lemieux has a chance to win.

Agreed. Benavidez needs to tighten up his defense. He's got the speed and power which may give him the confidence to not focus on defense as much. But Lemieux' not the type of fighter you want to have bad defense with.
