He ran off a litany of physical injuries....
“But I couldn’t let anyone down, the fans down, it’s such a fight, I can’t walk away from this fight, so I’m going to go ahead with it. But deep down in my mind, I wasn’t mentally prepared.''
Pure excuse making.
“If I did it again, maybe I would have taken the Kell Brook fight a little earlier in my career, but other than that, no. I’m very happy with the way my career went.''

Zab fought Paulie over 2 years after he fought Khan come on man.. and Paulie is another boxer that fought well against the shorter guys specifically shorter counter punchers like Zab and Broner that like to wait on youLast edited by Realizniguhnit; 05-19-2022, 10:31 AM.Comment

Very good fighter and had some great memories watching his fights, especially him vs Maidana The only fighter to seriously hurt Chino, that body shot was brutal! Incredible Chino was able to continue. Enjoy that retirement....Comment

This clears up your initial post and I’m inclined to agree.
Do you think Khan’s decline was precipitated by the spectacular KO losses? What if Khan hadn’t been KO’d by Prescott and Garcia? Would his career have turned out different?
Guys like Broner, Jermaine Taylor, Lucian Bute, and even Kovalev were great until they got ****** up and the losses just piled up.
With all the talent Khan was better off getting hit least as possible. The one question I've always had is if Khan's career would've turned out different if he had went with Mayweather Sr like he started to an focused on getting better an not so much on facing FMJ because I thought with his build he was best suited for that Mayweather defense, a lot of people thought he should of went to the Mayweathers at that time..Last edited by Realizniguhnit; 05-19-2022, 10:34 AM.Comment

It's hard to say because it was Khan's boxing style that got in him trouble in the first place. He just couldn't fully break that amateur style. Then he proceeded to get more aggressive, his offense was his defense and by the time he tried to correct that it was too late. Their were other issues to though like his mental focus, balance, his chin was always shaky as well and I think that has something to do with genes like I said people from that part of the world aren't known to be strong or durable ftmp like people from Russia or Mexico that are harder to KO.

Man!! For the longest time, I’ve said that Khan should have gone to Floyd Sr or even Roger Mayweather (when he was still healthy). I even said that to Khan himself (a close friend of mine is good friends with Khan) but at that time Roach was riding high with PAC so he was the go-to guy.
You are also correct about people from India and Pakistan in general. Those two countries combined account for over 1.5 billion people and they have Khan and maybe two other guys that have ever made it to pro boxing.Comment

We are going to really have agree to disagree on Zab. I am not a fan of Zab at all but the Zab that fought Floyd was on fire and Zab has power in both hands and is super skilled. He’s chin is just like Khan - touch it and he folds.
Khan’s only Arsenal was his hands speed. Period. A little defense training and good matchmaking he would have had a way better career.
At this point, Timothy Bradley is probably higher regarded than Khan yet he ducked Khan and I think Khan beats him anytime.

Now before Zab fought Khan he had just beat a prime 29 year old Matthyese (who's also short) an looked good, he was fast and strong. I can remember being surprised Zab was doing so well. Maybe you can say that was the end of Zab's prime but he was still in his prime years..
That said, my point remains that Zab was never going to beat that version of Khan whether he was 25 or 33. Khan wouldn't have loss to Baldimor either...

You do know Zab was coming off a loss when he fought Floyd ? I know Zab well man, he just didn't do well against the bigger guy's, he even alluded to that himself, that's why he tried going back to 140lbs late in his career. Floyd was short so he was able to reach him and do OK at first, but that fight wasn't near as close as people try to make it seem. Floyd dominated and was well on his way to battering or possibly even stopping Zab late before the low blow..

Those boxing triangle theories don’t work. I think even you know that.
Maidana got very easily beat by Devon Alexander YET he he gave Floyd hell so does that mean Devon had a chance against Floyd? I don’t think so.
Zab was coming off a loss but still had a belt and Floyd wasn’t a PPV star then and he needed those belts to have leverage against anyone he fought (his target was Oscar), so I don’t really hold that against either guy.
