Lip aint a contender, at best hes a gatekeeping vet. Clayton who? Cmon now.

Never said Ennis dont have talent. But hes lacking in quality opps. PERIOD. Until he can secure one of the ones I listed or somebody around there (Benn, catchweight with Ortiz etc), giving him showcase fights will do a disservice to him and fans.

No he isn’t. Lipinets is a former world champion at light welter. It’s fine if you are apprehensive about a fighter but don’t just tear another down several notches because you want to discredit another. But hey, opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one

Ennis is great. Crawford like and may be very hard to get him fights vs the division champs. So willbe interesting to see if he ever gets a big fight or ends up like Zurdo beating all bums and racking up a big record.

he just gotta keep angling for being mandatory .

You just admitted that a non PBC fighter isn't getting a PBC fighter. Oh my. And it's not even one of those ghastly Dayzin fighters lol. I see what you did there . I think Lipinets is good but nothing great. He beat a domestic level Japanese fighter for his title and not done much since. He's tough and throws a lot which has brought him the success he has had, but he's very static, and athletic fighters with good movement ( which Ennis has in abundance ) can handle him comfortably. I just don't rate Clayton. I'm sorry, but he looks terrible. That said Ennis handled them well and there's no denying his talent. He'll trouble anybody.

Conor Benn vs Jaron Ennis then.

I'll even take Virgil Jr for him.

But stop with this big talk while fighting journeymen. Stop mentioning Spence and Bud when you're fighting unnoticeable opponents.

Here's one way to look at it. If Ennis turns out to be the star people say he will be, then he'll be as good if not better, than a prime Mikey Garcia. Mikey didn't get much praise for dethroning Lipinets. So what makes it a great win for Ennis? Lipinets was more shopworn by then. It's still a good win, and for me, probably his best to date. However given Lipinets was outclassed by Mikey, who in turn was outclassed by Spence, there's still a big leap to take. Maybe he handles it though. He's a talented kid.

The logical response to this line of thinking is to compare where Ennis and Garcia are at the point in their careers. However, since he just beat lipinets and Clayton botj by easy ko’s….
