On paper, Canelo Alvarez is the most overrated fighter is boxing

His resume is still mediocre despite being undisputed champion:

    Home advantage in every fight
    Home refs in every fight
    Home judges in every fight
    Multiple gift decisions
Bigger than the vast majority of his opponents
    No legacy defining wins
Avoided the top guys at 160, 168, 175.
    Know steroid cheater
Was downright dominated in both of his losses

Canelo has one of the weakest "good" resume in boxing. This guy really was considered the P4P king even though his best win is a close decision over old ass GGG.

What was Floyd's resume when he became PFP no1!? When did Floyd fight someone ,4 inches taller? When did he fight who people wanted him to? When did Floyd fight outside backyard?

But it's not just a question of resume. I think Canelo's greatness wouldn't be so tainted if he didn't have such obvious crooked decisions in his favor. However bad you want to say Mayweather's resume is or how much cherry picking he did, and I would agree with a good chunk of that, Mayweather didn't have to win multiple close fights because some judge gave him like 10 rounds. The fact that the Bivol fight was 115 - 113 makes it seem like it was some back and forth war similar to Ward Kovalev I. And furthermore it justifies the contention that Canelo lost previous fights because it proves just how badly you have to beat Canelo to just barely eek out a win. Canelo's obviously a great fighter but it's pretty obvious especially now that is resume is overrated.

Floyd's resume has been great for as long as I can remember. No one wanted to fight Floyd in his prime. Not Shane and not Oscar. He's been fighting champions his whole life. And Floyd has fought plenty of tall dudes with longer reaches. Diego Corrales? What the **** you talking about? Canelo was not 4 inches shorter. You sound like a simp making all these excuses.

Also Vegas is not Floyd's backyard. I know it's hard for you to comprehend, but it's just not.

For all of the praise and money he earns yes, he is overrated. But, he is still a very good fighter and exciting to watch. He was challenging himself and came up short. Bivol was never going to be an easy fight. I don’t see anyone beating him at 168.
