Canelo Messed Up By Fighting Bivol

Now his hype has gone down as people were saying he was unbeatable and that he can beat Usyk at 201. Even if he had won vs Bivol he wouldnt get that much more credit than if he beat Benavidez or Charlo so the risk wasnt worth taking as few were even interested in this fight going in (ticket sales were poor). He wouldve made more money and had gotten the same amount of credit had he gone the Charlo/Benavidez route. Another Eddie Hearn mess up with picking Bivol.

How can anyone say he was unbeatable? Alvarez already had a loss on his record.

He wasn't undefeated when he face Bivol. He was daring to be great by fighting Bivol, a man who had many physical advantages going into the fight, no harm in that.

Alvarez reputable would be harmed if he lost to a can (bum) boxers...Bivol is a good boxer.

Im not saying that.. Im saying thats the way the general public was treating him. You dont take a hard fight like this in the first of a 3 fight deal. Especially if you have the 3rd GGG which DAZN was banking on when they signed GGG to that 100 million dollar deal.

Canelo and Eddie Hearn thought it was going to be an easy fight.

        - - Now Bivol #1 consensus heavyweight gonna make even more $$$ on the rematch with more at stake for both fighters.

We already proved that he wasn't daring to be great though. Canelo doesn't follow boxing, neither do the reynosos. You never see them at events besides their own fighters. Eddie Hearn was the one who advised them to fight Bivol and he admitted that the reason they picked him was because he looked average against Richards and Castillo. Canelo, like all of the media, fans, fighters, and most people on this forum, thought Bivol was a basic 1-2 Euro fighter w high guard defense and no skill. He thought it would be an easier win than Charlo or Benavidez and it backfired like crazy. Nobody in the world thought Bivol had a chance including the "experts", so you can't say he was daring to be great.

Nah. He saved himself a total ass beating from Benavidez.

GGG is smarter. He will make some more good wins at 160 by the age of 40+ and retire with 1 very controversial loss.

I think he thought it was gonna be easy. You dont usually see fighters take a hard fight in their first fight of a 3 fight deal
