It's because the media, boxers, everyone widely criticizes this fight as a cherry pick. It may have been since Hearn admitted he advised Canelo to take the fight because Bivol looked bad vs. Richards and Castillo. I don't think Canelo or the Reynosos actually watch much boxing, you never see them at other people's boxing matches (unless it's a Reynoso fighter) the way you do with most other fighters like Usyk, Bud, Spence who you see at every fight. So they thought Bivol was a cherry. But you know what, sometimes cherries look ripe on the outside but are actually poisonous and sour on the inside and that's exactly what happened.

But honestly I think most of the casual canelo fans thought this fight was just another walk in the park, not another big event like undisputed or GGG.

the fight week was Dry, the entire Promotion was AWFUL I never seen any Promotion come across my Timeline and I'm subscribed to DAZN youtube Channel and I did not see nothing I literally had to Type In and Go To DAZN youtube page to FIND Canelo vs Bivol Pre Fight Content

it has nothing to do with Canelo, it was the opponent and nothing but respect to Bivol but nobody bothered to sell him as a good opponent, instead all I heard leading up to this fight was "What Is Next For Canelo After The Bivol Fight"

However, this is why Upsets are GREAT for the sport of boxing, now people know who Bivol is, his Social Media Following Increased Significantly after the Win so maybe they do run it back September with more fans knowing who he is now. However, I don't see much changing in the rematch but then again I thought Canelo would beat him on Saturday so I don't know SH^T lol
