Then why are they on ESPN talking about Mayweather????
Hes a ****ng mega star.........
You really are an idiot... a mega star because he is on ESPN??
You realize that just the other day a replay of a 3 year old girl throwing a baseball during a phillies game was shown on ESPN more than May.... does that make her a mega star??
Mayweather would definitely be a bigger star if he was white.. Thats common knowledge. But the biggest star? No.. His fights arent entertaining enough. But nonetheless he would be a bigger star simply because 90% of America is white
Jason "White Chocolate" Williams at one time had the best selling jersey in the NBA.
The poster that said Mayweather would be bigger if he was white because most of the people in the US are white is dead on. Just like more Blacks watch tennis because of the Williams sisters and golf because of Tiger. That's not to say other factors don't factor in.
He actually has a good KO ratio, but no one cares that he was knocking people out at the lower weights. He's been forced to fight at higher weight classes where he doesn't have the power to consistently knock people out. More knockouts would definitely add to his popularity.
America doesn't respond well to the hip hop, braggart, "I got more money than you got" image. The forums at ESPN are always full of comments about how "these thugs should not be allowed to make so much money." You can read some racism into that as well, but you can blame Mayweather for marketing himself that way (since I do believe he would be a bit bigger if he acted like a Sugar Ray Leonard). People generally don't like it being thrown in their face how much money you have. Turn your hat backwards, put on baggy jeans, "make it rain" at clubs, and wear a thick gold chain, it becomes worse.

More like 60-70%, I'm guessing though, but I know 90% is way too high.

they talk about anything news worthy that is sports related.
Boxing doesn't make the rounds on that or any other sports talk show even with a big fight approaching. They mentioned the comments and not the fight itself.
If you go by the mainstream and sports media boxing is on par with woman's golf, not even on par with mens or woman's tennis. So don't just brush it off as anything news worthy that is sports related. Don't let the hate cloud your judgment.
