Actually Roy Jones shouldn`t have been ring light heavyweight champ as the linar title never belonged to him. It was Daruis M ( can`t beat spell the name ) who defeated Virgil Hill in 1997 to win the WBA/IBF titles to go along with the WBO title. The real Linar champ is whom ever the WBO champ is because of the accomplishment of DM in 1997.

That's why I'm wondering if something like what happened with the WBC belt and Rocchigiani happened with the Ring Belt as well.

He beat Axel Schulz for the IBF belt in 1995 which was probably the worst year for heavyweight boxing in terms of who held the belts. As Frank Bruno had the WBC belt and Bruce Seldon had the WBA belt. Botha was stripped of his belt though for having tested positive for steroids.
