Comments Thread For: Benavidez: Canelo Just Got Beat By The Better Man, Still Big Fights Out There For Him

David Benavidez wasn't surprised by the result, other than wondering if at least one judge would try to steal it from Dmitry Bivol. The unbeaten, former two-time WBC super middleweight titlist joined an intimate fight party from his training headquarters in San Diego to watch Bivol take a well-deserved, unanimous decision over Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez to defend his WBA light

This coke head . . . He said Bivol just throws a 1-2 and totally disrespted him. He never gave Bivol a chance and half the boxing "news" was quoting him like he was an expert. Mike Tyson said Canelo was going to **** him up!

lol, not all boxers know boxing. They mostly focus on their skills. Canelo himself said there was nothing different about this camp. What??? Why would you not change some stuff up for this guy? You don't have YouTube in Mexico? Go watch his fights, dawg. lol I called it YEEHAW!

Bivol just derailed the Canelo honey wagon. David can get Bivol seconds, but the shine is gone there. Let's see if David barks up Bivol's tree.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bivol vs Benavidez at light heavyweight. That would be a heck of a fight with David certainly putting on more pressure than Canelo did.

Who is the pound for pound king now, Bivol, Crawford or Fury? There's probably no clear one, but Bivol is right up there. Shakur looks like a potential great, but I digress.

Congratulations to Bivol and much respect to Canelo for actually fighting Bivol. I suspected it was a very difficult fight for Canelo when it was made. People didn't know about the quiet, non-flashy but extremely skilled Dmitry.

Now this is the type of hypocrisy I was speaking of. After Canelo's loss now everyone of course had Bivol picked before hand; Speaking of revisionist history!

Still have Canelo P4P no.1; still a 4 weight champion, just got outclassed by a proper technician. They’re not about often.

As for Bivol, on the one hand, he has no notable wins in other weight classes, and moving up looks like it might be hard for him. OTOH, could he beat 99.9% if he was in their weight class? I’d say yes, so maybe he should be in the top 10 minimum.
