Why did Canelo go Vegan for this fight?

Not saying it would change the outcome but why change things up?

He said he went 'partly vegan' I think, I think, which is well... not vegan.

Like saying I'm a vegetarian but I also eat meat.

TBH there's probably significant benfits to be gained from removing some unecessary animal products from your diet even as a performance athlete - a lot of the dairy for instance - but keeping the purer proteins, eggs, fish, some of the meat. Also most store bought meats are packed with colourants and preservatives which ain't great, and of course the antibiotics and (in Mexico) possibly growth agents fed to livestock, none of which are particularly good for you.

Doesnt matter why, he said he felt strong with more energy and so kept going with it, these are things that show in camp if its not working, you feel good or you dont, it made no difference at all he wasnt up to the task on the night.
