You have to look at it from fighters perspective though. I would be happy either way,but Charlo is a mw whod be moving up with no belts at smw,& was already being discredited when he was supposedly next.(& he's said hes scared of fighting Benevidez at smw so he'd use weight as an excuse) Benevidez would be called a WeIgHtdRaInEd bum w no belt or elite wins,& he has never even sold out an arena or headlined a decent fight.

Ggg while old is coming off a ko win v a champ,& will sell tons of ppvs,Bivol is legit the boogieman at lhw & prime,& Canelos moving up to his weight with no restrictions. That will do way more for his legacy if he wins than Charlo.

Keep in mind pbc was going to force Canelo to fight Spence at 164 who he would get 0 credit for,& hed be tied down to Pbc for a 3 fight deal.

Intrigued at seeing Spence vs Canelo, though I might be in the minority. Love weight class jumping fights, where someone grabs the bull by the horns and ****ing goes for it.

Always wanna see if they can pull it off, though the caveat is that they must be decent on the first place, otherwise it’s just weight bullying

It's pretty clear Canelo has no desire to return to 160lbs, although he should imo...he's putting a lot of excess wear on his body with each fight at these higher weights

That said, Charlo and Spence didn't stand a chance against Canelo unless he's drained which I assume is part of the reason why Canelo won't return to 160

Spence would get washed and probably stopped but yeah that'd be fun to watch like GGG vs Brook and Taylor vs Serrano this past weekend was easily the best womens fight I've ever seen..can't forget Pac vs Margarito

Canelo vs. Spence at 164, would be bigger than Crawford vs. Spence at 147! Nice try Mr. Brown! Salute! So now on to Plan B! Canelo doesn't stop the movement! If Spence was willing to fight Canelo at 164, surely Jermall Charlo should be willing to fight Benavidez at 168, especially if Canelo vacates the WBC title (which he will)? Charlo vs. Benavidez for the WBC Super Middleweight Title is a winner! Make It Happen!

Yeah, right on, the majority of classjumpers get done in big time. But every now and again, you get a Sugar Ray Leonard, and that’s the appeal.

So many more people got to see Canelo and presumably, he got paid more ?? ( I presume he doesn't regard DAZN as a charity)

                i) So you argue the live numbers gate being a fraction is better? because of the gate but if Canelo is getting paid more what does he care what the gate is that's DAZN's problem. Like if any fighter can have 4x of their fans watching (a record outdoor attendance to their name) and it doesn't cost their pay packet who wouldn't do that .. that lets families come ,.. new fans etc. That actually potentially brought viewers to Showtime.
So you think sponsors like Coke or Pepsi care what the gate is when finding someone to sponsor, they want Canelo fans.

ii) 800K viewers is really poor, sure its a big ppv number with big PPV revenue but if your getting paid the bucks anyway why do you care where the money came from?? So is a subscription dollar a bad dollar and a ppv dollar a good one . (This is for the non DAZN ppv fights they are arguing hurt his career)

Here is one figure Mike Coppinger gave us the additional UK subs was 250K for Canelo Saunders a fight at 4am not the viewers the additional ones (Hearn commissioned a documentary introducing Canelo and had it on the BBC), now guess the total viewers and add on the rest of the world , these are potential new Canelo fans (sure they aren't paying US ppv money but if he can do that and still get his take home pay why would he care). That 800K would be wiped out way before an American was asked to pay for a single subscription rather than a ppv that must have looked a very good buy.

Now DAZN ppv might be a different argument but aguing DAZN subscription has less people see your fights than Showtime just looks silly.

If a PBC fighter was offered the same money for a small ppv or a huge subscription / or free to air how is the ppv better?
You're supposed to do ppv or high gate ticket prices because you have to , not to punish fans .. this is weird.

Interesting. That being said, I don’t see any of those dudes beating Bivol, not even Benavidez. Bivol is the real deal.

That's an eye opener, not that Canelo was offered that money, but that Spence would've moved up that high.

Canelo can't make 164 lbs anymore. Also, Spence is a fine fighter but I think he'd take a lot of punishment if he fought Canelo.

Charlo ain't a bigger challenge than Bivol, although maybe it seems like a more exciting fight.

Bivol is a big challenge. Give Canelo a break, but yes, of course everyone would love to also see him in a mouth watering clash with Benavidez.

                    Let's enjoy Canelo vs Bivol.
