It seemed like it was indeed a full house, and surprising for the msg, for a women's fight. Great success. Wonder though if ticket prices were reduced.

No way it could equal Canelo's fights and revenue, but still, well done to the ladies, exciting fight.

Unless I've missed something in the article, talk of a crowning achievement has been brought to the discussion by you and no-one else. From where I sat, it was a success: the biggest women's fight yet and a genuinely exciting ten rounds by any measure. The crowd were extremely energised and the atmosphere in the arena seemed electric.

Women's boxing is decades and decades behind men's boxing, but this was a big step up; a milestone in the advancement of the women's sport. I think it's only fair and proper that Taylor and Serrano get the props that are due to them. Well done, I say, therefore. They are on their way to being stars.

Alongside that, there has to be a well done for DAZN in delivering such an electric event. DAZN has had a rocky road, splashing cash on mediocre fights and events and has clearly failed to make the inroads they originally hoped. It's fair to criticise them for this, or at least to acknowledge it. Very odd to try and knock them for one of their genuine successes, though, which is what this event was.

I understand if anyone decides women's boxing is not for them; naturally, we only follow the sports we enjoy. Very churlish though to feel the need to come here and bash the sport. DAZN is not aiming low with 'bird fights'; it is at the forefront of building the sport up to its next level. Applaud it if you like it, but probably better to stay out of threads on women's boxing if you don't like it.

They gave away loads of the tickets, and the ones they sold cost peanuts.

I doubt this was one of DAZN's most watched shows tbh, Eddie Hearn is a liar.

I guarantee Stevenson-Valdez easily doubled the viewership of Taylor-Serrano.
Can only consume boxing media through social media since no one really covers boxing in germany, so my view might be skewed, but Taylor Vs Serrano felt bigger and more popular than Stevenson Vs Shakur. Saw a lot more promos and a lot more people talked about it.
The fight highlights for Taylor Vs Serrano have more viewers on youtube, the rbr thread here on boxingscene also has more replies.

It was a great fight with an as energetic crowd/atmosphere I've ever seen or felt for boxing period. It was on par with AJ's in the UK dwarfing the buzz/action of Shakur vs Valdez. Great night for DAZN and boxing as a whole.

Anyone know what Serrano whispered to Taylor as they touched gloves? It was something like "can you believe this" ....

Sold? They were literally giving tickets away man. The crowd was the great though, great idea putting in NYC. The Irish and Puerto Ricans will always get behind their own.

I think you’re definitely right on the social media side, I think having the YouTuber involved would have helped get a lot of clicks too. In terms of viewership I fully expect Stevenson-Valdez dwarfed Taylor-Serrano.

I spoke to Paul and Callum Smith a week ago on Friday after the Paul Butler fight and they literally told me tickets would pretty much be free for anyone who travelled over there.
