Cotto lands the left hook to the Body easy on southpaws

I watched the Judah and Quintanna fights and Cotto landed the left hook to the body with ease. Its cuz the way southpaws are positioned it is a prime target for the left hook to the body.

When Manny charges in he will get hit with this punch frequently and along with Cotto's jab i think that accumulation of damage will tell the tale. Just my opinion, your thoughts?

lol , i think if cotto does land that hook with ease , manny paquiao will go back to the phillipines and not only make more movies , he will make gay , very ****ing gay ****o movies , lol , no real talk , if he does , manny will quit , he will go down within 6 , and will want to stay in the fight , but roach will throw in the towel like in lopez/penalosa. Thats if cotto does land it with ease , i dont know how that will happen , but if it were to happen pac doesnt last more than 6

Thoughts... yeah, I guess Roach and Pacquiao will be preparing for Cotto's body attack. With MP's stick training he'll be fine.

I think they will use a strategy similar to the Oscar and Diaz fights, IE; keep on the move and utilize plenty of lateral movement.

Nice point, but in order to hit with effective shots, manny will have to open up at some point, especiall with his wild left hook, which will definitely expose his ribs for a body shot. And Cotto may not be as fast as many, but he's got enough speed to capitalize and counter quite well, he's proven it many times. I also heard he's working on his stamina for this one, making sure he dont gass out during the latter rounds.

No. He lands it so easy on southpaws because he's lefty and his left to the body can get a good angle on southpaws. Few other orthodox fighters can hit southpaws with a left hook as consistently. It's a reason why this fight will be a war.

The difference is instead of moving into Cotto's left like most lefties do (and Quintana and Judah did), Pac will be moving in and out.

Pac foot speed and foot work won't make it easy, but he can land it. If he lands a hard flush hook on Pac, it will do damage. If he starts early and works the body often, he could possibly slow Pacquiao down later in the fight.

Cotto is good at landing the left hook against southpaw's period because he knows how to set it up. he won't just walk in with a wide lead left hook like Hatton did. He'll throw a right to the body to bring Pac's hands down then he'll go up top with the left. He hurt Clottey with that combo in the 6th round.

Thats a very good observation TS. he does landed very easy on southpaws.

And teh other thing is, look when manny throws a left hand, before and after he throws it, he lowers his right hand to his waist, if Cotto capitalises on that, it can be a really short night.

The jab and double left hooks(Body, head) will do manny!

Cotto will break him down and walk him down to a 8th round KO.
