Wilder's weakness is his ego. He can't handle losing, it goes against his internal beliefs. He was always quoting THE SECRET too (say it, see it, believe it) which is worrying. That world has fallen apart for him now. He's lost all his belief. I hope he comes back and gets it back
All he has is that right hand.
It's effective mostly because the competition is so weak.

Ego is the motor that starts most boxers.
Losing is hard to get over when all a person knows is winning
His ego won't allow him to learn how to box as well

I've never given Wilder any, or any of these HW's, too much credit since there is no one special around to beat.

      It's a weak era.
      Mike lived in one
Holmes lived in one in his prime
Rocky had no real quality opponents that were near prime

      It happens.

The nonsense that these guys would dominate everyone else is comedy gold.

Yeah it's pretty easy for Fury to be the best HW of this era when only him and Usyk have any footwork. Everyone else is just a flatfooted brawler.

I feel like the same will happen to Jared Anderson a couple years from now.

I wouldn't describe Fury's footwork to be impressive. Even for a guy of his size.
I ask myself what makes a fighter good and the only answer I have for Fury is his size.

The future of this HW era is bleak.

I never buy that "weak era" stuff. Boxing is more widespread than ever and in more countries. It would be strange if boxers got worse. Not to mention we have more bigger guys for the heavyweights now that they used to have. Even in more recent times - take someone like Lennox Lewis - is he really better than the people we have now? Go back and watch some of his fights (not the highlights) and you might change your mind. At the time people said the Klicthsko's ruled over a weak era too. I was there!

He’s not a top 5 heavyweight based on his resume for me.

              1. Lennox Lewis
              2. Ali
              3. Foreman
              4. Frazier
              5. Holyfield

Id put fury in top 15, maybe top 10.

But if he beats the winner of Usyk vs AJ then he’s top 3 for me.

Seeing guys from different eras helps.
So much slop going on in this particular era of HWs.
Reminds me of those B&W fights way back when.

Bigger seems to be the only advantage these HWs have.
Fury, Wilder and almost everyone else has a laughable resume.
What W would you say exemplifies their greatness ?

What W's would you say gives these HWs a clear path to the HOF ?
No one (besides their fans) in the future will think highly of these HW bums.
Maybe Usyk will be remembered fondly as Holy is.

BTW, Lenny demolishes everyone in this era in the same month

For a guy the size of Fury it is impressive. A guy that is 6'7"-9" and 260 pounds would probably be flatfooted or unable to move their body and feet the way Fury does. His footwork definitely isn't as great as Usyk's but he still has decent footwork and movement in general.

The fact that Fury boxes instead of brawling shows he relys on technique rather than size. Fury started out by relying on his size and he almost lost or struggled multiple times which is why he switched to boxing.

To compare his movement to Ali is a stretch and incomparable but to discredit him and say his size is what makes him great makes no sense after his drastic style change where he hardly relys on size except during clinches.

His lack of discipline for conditioning hurts his footwork.
So what does he do ?
Thank his God he's the biggest doing it today.

The only athletic comparison ot be made between Fury and Ali is the div they fought in.

                    My opinion on the matter.

Fury is conditioned. He only gasses out at the 11th or 12th round which only Usyk can do as well. Just because he still has belly fat doesn't mean he isn't conditioned. People just have different body types.
