    SHAKUR vs. VALDEZ

I rarely start a thread here. I’m shocked that this fight isn’t really being talked about here but most here are more interested in bitching, sniveling or building their own egos.
This is a great fight and it’s pretty much free. I lean towards Shakur only because of his last fight. I think Valdez is getting old. I wish Valdez was 5 years younger. I still think Valdez has a chance. Hes still pretty fast and has more power than Shakur. If Shakur does a boring boxing exhibition it could his night.

Yeah, TopRank has been trying to promote this fight but it hasn't gotten much traction yet. I think Shakur would've always beaten Valdez. Valdez is a solid fighter, with good power but he's basic compared to Shakur. Shakur also is doing a better job of cutting off the ring and coming forward. Valdez struggled in moments against Berchelt because of the pressure and I think Shakur is a much more intelligent fighter than Berchelt. I predict a late stoppage for Shakur.

Shakur, Charlo’s, R Garcia, Tank, Teo, Haney, Benavidas, Munguia, Ortiz, Ennis………are among todays most talented fighters. One thing I notice that’s different about TODAYS talent vs. talent of 20 years ago. They are “babied”. They lack the ability to “endure”, when they meet “dangerous” opposition. They bring them up “spoon feeding” them EASY PAYDAYS.
They are no longer fight TUFF opponents. Notice I didn’t say “elite opponents”. Tuff opponents TEACH you something. Elite boxers SHOULD be able to whip “tuff” IF brought in in a intelligent manor. Their managers and promoters are TERRIFIED too loose their “investment”, so they keep them away from any ELITE fighters till the very end of draining them of all the money they can get out of them.

On paper it looks like a good fight. Hopefully it is competitive enough that these young fighters find a second gear or have to dig deep down. They will be bragging rights for the winner.
