I don’t think it's in the cards for Whyte to become world champion. He's about 34 and he's made a lot of money. The hunger is probably not there anymore and he needs a lot of it to improve to be good enough. He isn't, wasn't and probably never will be. He was a very good fighter though who left it all in there and gave us some entertaining fights and moments along the way.

Whyte is a total palooka. Always was, probably always will be. What makes him especially annoying though are his delusional Broneresque / Teofimoesque / Khanesque claims of conspiracy and bias. He got the best payday of his career and the one shot he has been pleading for…only to embarrass himself, as most serious fight fans knew he would.
If his payday was proportional to the entertainment value and “thrill” he was supposed to deliver in the ring, he should have walked away (or got dragged away) with a fiver. What a clown. Only an arena full of enthusiastic cheering managed to elevate the energy of that fight above an ECG flatline.
As for claims that Fury’s victory cements his place as one of the GOATs…those individuals need to get back on their meds. I only hope he comes out of retirement to face Usyk who, despite his “tiny” physique…will almost certainly school a man whose greatest attributes are his sheer size and awkwardness. As the gallery of loud-mouthed, mediocre clowns grows each year, boxing is increasingly heading the way of the WWE.

We’ll see how Whyte looks next time out, and that’ll help put this one into context. There is Fury, AJ, Usyk, and then there about 12-15 other heavyweights who match up dead even with one another on paper. Lots of fun to be had if the fights can get made.
