Why is PBF uncharismatic?

Its because Floyds whole gimmick is so obviously fake. Mayorga may be exaggerating his personality a little bit, but it is his personality. Floyd acts like a thug and turns off other thugs because you can tell hes an imposter. Playing the race card when there absolutely no reason for it and basically just acting like a total douche. He wants sympathy from everyone and when he doesnt get it one way he tries another, like trying to appeal to the black community.

He's the exact opposite. If he weren't you wouldn't be making a thread about him, would you? Someone doesn't have to be a nice guy to be charasmatic. I get annoyed and find him ignorant as ****, but I'm not going to lose sleep or feel outraged over what Floyd Mayweather, of all people, said.

Fact is, Floyd says things to get a reaction and to draw people to him.

Simply put? Boxing is no longer as popular as it once was in America. There's a thread now asking who are some non HW black superstars in the sport, past or present. The last true one was SRL. SRL was a huge star, from the day he was first shown in the Olympics; back then Olympic boxing was shown on primetime basic cable tv here in the states, and he was being interviewed by an American broadcasting legend in Howard Cosell. After he won gold, SRL got all sorts of endorsement from soft drinks to cereal.

Now, Olympic boxing, and boxing in general, is not shown on basic cable, like back in the day--there's just no market for it here. Boxing has been over taken by the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, College sports, etc. There's just no room for boxing, and it's man players to be cross over phenoms like my example of SRL.

Oscar is an exception because he was marketed towards a large immigrant community (who happen to have a rich boxing heritage) and because of his looks.
