Not really being defensive in any way. Just annoyed by others who think they they can judge for no reason in all honesty. Its up to each individual where they are at in the sport.
Most threads here are a mix of truth and opinions. Every now and then you will come across some really good reads. Chit talking is part of it too regardless. LOL!

No, that’s just how it was, particularly with Pacquiao.

Now, I can see maybe a fan starting out just watching ONE guy because he’s from your country or whatever.

You know, gets your interest in the sport, and THEN moving on and following other boxers, but if you’re only paying attention to ONE guy, are you really a fan of the sport? Or are you a fan of that ONE guy? What happens when that guy retires or loses bad? Do you just stop watching boxing?

If you’re watching and following more than one boxer, then I’d say you’re a fan. But if you’re like, “I only watch the main event of a Pacquaio fight because it’s Pacquiao,” I don’t consider that to be a real boxing fan. And those people do/did exist.
