              I understand what he's saying. We have all seen worse beatings turn into incredible comebacks. Some fighters accept what it takes to reach the top. Gamboa didn't become a champion by accepting defeat via adversity. I have no doubt he was in a war of attrition and was banking on Cruz to burn out. He was losing...and fairly badly....but he wasn't without his own successes and for what he took...his spirit wasn't wilting. Mentally he knew what was happening and in processing that he could still see a way forward. Not allowing him a conclusion leaves his mind guessing wether he is really finished or not. Perhaps this fight should have allowed him that by letting him go out on his shield. We could have avoided Fury/Wilder 3 if that happened in Fury/Wilder 2 and Fury would have fought Joshua by now.
