  • Was/is gggs power overrated? Is prime Canelo now a bigger ko artist(will Ggg have to fight even more defensively?)

Look at this gif below,Canelo once was said to be scared of gggs power & that he'd get kod. As you can see he ate gs best rights flush & learned he can fight naturally bigger guys from that.

Going into 1st g fight Canelo was hedging his bets by coming in a lil bulky to withstand gs much hyped power at a new weight, when he realized g isn't as strong as he thought,he came in lighter in rematch for better stamina & has been doing it ever since while now koing bigger fighters due to being in his prime & after yrs of draining down vs faster more slick opponents like Trout,Floyd,Lara, etc

He wasn't as strong at lower weights because no longer draining makes you gain power if you're as dedicated for as long as Canelo. Conversely I expect ggg to not gain much strength at smw/lhw because he hasn't fought there before like he should have(I expect him to be a lil better though from not draining because gggs been getting sick for years)

What the hater idiots don't understand is that Canelo reached his best weight in 2020. Some fighters start their careers in their best weight, and their KO rate decreases as their weight increases. Canelo, on the other hand, reached his best weight after draining himself at 147, 154 and even 160 for years. So his KO ratio is better.

As an answer, none of them are one punch KO fighters. Their KO wins are from accumulate of punches usually. The same level.

At world level it's hard to knock guys out. Golovkin hurt Canelo more than anybody else, even Canelo said his power was 9/10, which means 10/10 as boxers always like to downplay other guys power, like Callum Smith saying Canelo didn't hit that hard, even though he destroyed every part of him.

Look at Mike Tyson, at domestic level 95% (at a guess) KO rate, at world level (Holyfield, Lewis, Williams, McBride, Douglas) 0% KO rate. Tyson couldn't bust a g**** above domestic level, and LHW's, and Holmes coming into the fight off two losses in a row. Someone with A Power like Golovkin hurts everyone he fights, someone with C power like Tyson does not. Nash out.
