Comments Thread For: Devin Haney 'Worried' About Teofimo Lopez After Kambosos Loss Comments

Devin Haney is concerned about the mental welfare of on-and-off rival Teofimo Lopez. Haney, the Las Vegas-based WBC lightweight titleholder, responded to recent remarks made by Lopez in which the Brooklyn native claimed that his loss to George Kambosos in their lightweight title unification bout (WBO, WBA, IBF) last November

Boxing is the type of sport that in order to reach the absolute pinnacle, you have to believe in your skills and abilities so much, fighters sometimes become delusional. If they lose, there’s deft a reason for it. Anything other then the opponent being better than you lol. We’ve seen this recently with Wilder and Teo is no different.

Does appear Teos is going through some mental issues more than just accepting his defeat.Too bad it doesn't seem, especially from Teos father, that he has the family structure to help him come to terms with his mental issues and seek professional help. Teos boxing career from here on out could very well be short lived without it. Posters like to ridicule the likes of him and Ryan as well but atleast with Ryan, his familys aware of those issues and chose to seek help and he appears to be in a better place for it. These issues and addictions most of us deal with in one form or another are life long issues that most of us have to cope with. Having family/friends that are willing to help you walk through that path helps immensely. Not sure Teo has that in his "corner"....

There seems to be some sincererity and honest sympathy there from Haney, respect that as he more than anyone on this board understands the immense pressure they're under to perform at a high level. Sound advice from Devin there.

That's my response as a father. My response as a man would be like..."take your ass beating like a man and move the **** on you little bitchass"....

most boxers win some lose some etc, very few if any go through their careers with all wins & no help from nice judges, teo thought he was taking over fueled by his crazy pops, they turned out to be a comedy act

You can’t really blame Lopez though. While he is a grown ass man and should know better, he probably inherited his father’s mental health issues. His father seems very delusional. He predicted 2 million PPV buys for Lopez-Kambosos.

After the Lomachenko fight, they acted like divas, scared to rematch Lomachenko. Then they were talking about $5mill minimum purses and asking for $10mill from Hearn/DAZN to fight Haney.

These two are so delusional, that Haney could very well be right in that it is an actual mental health issue. They might really be legit schizo. And I like Lopez as a boxer over Haney. I do not like Haney at all, don’t like his style and his low power. But Haney is right.

Haney has a good point but is being respectful and he shouldn’t; just say what you think. Lopez you got yo A(sS) whipped. End of story!

Teo is seeking to be closer to God based off his social media outlets as he should because if his family does not seem to care to help him then who else is going to save him from himself? But let’s be honest, had Teo been given the win over Kambosos he wouldn’t be acting this way. Him and his dad would continue with their takeover nonsense and hold the belts hostage until the next mandatory is in place. Him losing this fight, his own family. many of his fans, and being short with money is a manifestation of karma for refusing to show humility. Perhaps all this that’s happened to him will help him come to the realization of his errors and encourage him to be a better person.

As much crap as Teofimo Lopez Jr. talked about Deontay Wilder needing to be a man, and except that he just lost to Tyson Fury (twice).
He acted or is acting much worse, he's in some other world as compared to the rest of us, him and his dad are a pathetic pair of psycho's.

Unfortunately that's not what's manifesting itself to be, he's actually getting worse sinking further into a conspiracy theory, and alienating himself from promoter's, his wife, and fan's.
Teofimo, and his dad haven't learned a single solitary thing from his loss to Kambosos, their arrogance and whacked out ego is a danger to be around for themselves and other's.
