You dont have to move up in weight to be great. Unifying the division and keeping your titles is also very hard to do and requires discipline on top of that. As far who Brook beat that's not all relevant to my post. Its daring to go to a fighters back yard and take their title. Case in point Haney taking on Kambosos on his home turf. He is daring to be great.

Yes you do have to move up in weight to be great, that's the barometer. Nobody really cares about unifying; not even boxers, because if they did, they wouldn't be moving up to higher weights for better fights under harder circumstances. Fighters love to say the wordy unify but at the end of the day, they don't give a fuc.k and neither do the history books. What people want to see are good fights and Spence has been beating up on smaller guys since he turned pro. There are better fights for him out there, he just doesn't want them and content to make the money he's making fighting these regular Joes.

Brooke was viciously beat up and got his orbital broke in the fight before by a larger fighter and puncher. If you can't add that into the equation as valid cherry picking or a triple asterisk at the worst, you're being extremely unreasonable.
Of course who Brooke beat is relevant. A lot of fighters pick up belts on a vacant affair, doesn't make them great by any means. I'm aware that he beat Porter for the belt, but I rate Porter as a gate keeper even when he was at his best. A lot of people think Diaz and Ugas beat him which should put him around 31-7 which is not that awesome.
Kell Brooke will be forgotten in 10 years and only be remembered on other fighters highlight reels. He's a modern day Antonio Salieri.Comment
