One of the major storylines surrounding the career of Errol Spence Jr. is just how much longer the big-bodied boxer could compete at 147 pounds. The WBC and IBF welterweight champion has been hinting for a while about his inevitable move up to the super welterweight division.

It really surprises me that Spence hasn’t thought of this before

He knows he has weight problems

This will relieve him of a lot of stress

You mean eating PB&J sandwiches two times a day is not the way to go??? This man makes millions of dollars per fight and he just NOW hired a nutritionist?? Like why?? You have the means to afford one so why not make it easier on yourself? Spence does seem more upbeat this week opposed to his prior camps when he is struggling to make weight as he has been doing quite a bit of interviews/podcasts.

He is mentally strong and dedicated that he can make the weight on his own but at this level it is better to have a professional handle that. It is a good investment and one less thing to worry about.

I can imagine it's much easier to get down to 147 when you're not blowing up in weight due to drinking between fights. On top of that, there's no telling how long he's had to make this weight. As mentioned, he seems more upbeat this time around so, we should get an even better fight this weekend.

I see Spence beating Ugas with a statement victory. Ugas is willing to engage and a high volume Spence can end the night in devastating fashion.

Spence looks to be in good shape and in good spirits. Ugas is a very good fighter that would be tough for anyone but if he stands in the pocket too long, Spence will have his chances to hurt him.

Do you think? I didn't see that in the Porter fight. It was a form of ineffective ring generalship. He walked Porter down without throwing anything. They were both looking for a counter punch but Porter's step-forward wasn't quick enough so he had to charge forward then we got 2/3 punch exchange inside and then clinching and Repeat - it was very boring to watch after a while when I realised they were neutralising each other.
I think Spence will try to fight behind his world class jab but Ugas will counter him.

His metabolism says otherwise. He’s getting older, he’s going to carry natural weight around anyway. Water retention is a huge factor. Some of these guys put on as much as 17 pounds in like 30 hours somehow with no iv’s.
