Catchweight are only good when you have the #1 and #2 p4p fighters at different weight classes. Most of the time it only benefits the A-side.
I don't like catchweight because in some occasions it hinders one of the fighters and don't like the pre-built excuse in them.
But at the end of the day they are grown men and if they accept the CW that is totally on them. They can always say noComment

Canelo didn’t KO Chavez, but he had him hurt multiple times throughout and he beat him up. Canelo really beats and busts up his opponents when he is able to get in a groove. You can tell by his opponents reactions to his punches.
You don’t have to be a 1 punch KO artist to have concussive power.
But I’m also not going to rate his power as the best in the game, but I do think his punching power rates pretty high.Last edited by b Murphington; 04-07-2022, 09:38 AM.Comment

Nobody cares. When are we getting Canelo vs Usyk or Fury, with no catchweight?
Bivol lost 15 times in amateurs, out of 283 fights. He is no world beater.
Canelo is obviously ducking Breidis at CW, and Usyk, Fury, AJ, Wilder, Whyte, Ruiz, and Parker at HW. He refuses to fight guys his own size. Picking on these tiny LHW’s, SMW’s, and MW’s like Callum Smith, Dmitry Bivol, and Daniel Jacobs. It’s sickening.
Hopefully Canelo grows a pair and calls out Oleksandr Usyk at HW with no catchweight after this.
Come on...Comment

Seems like the Canelo team is trying to take credit for something that wasn't necessary. Bivol is known for being a small LHW. And the odds of him ballooning up in weight to something significant after the weigh-in is quite small.Comment

There is a reason why he wanted no part of beterbiev. Bivol is a small lhw to begin with and he does not have enough power to keep him honest. Believe me, they did their research and would not be fighting bivol if they knew he would be a threat.
Clenelo moves from 154 to 175 and doubles his power? Give me a break.
Canelo increasing his power as he moved up in weight reminds me of manny's increase in power moving up to 147. Manny was breaking faces and stopping everyone at 147 when guys at 130 were going the distance with him. strange. Then not long after that streak Manny's KO's stopped happening.

lol everyone has losses in the amateurs.
250+ wins and 15 losses is an elite amateur career even if they didnt win a medal. It only takes one loss at the right eliminator to get you out of the olympics.

Have a look at facts and proofs below
Canelo is the one who called out Floyd. Canelo is the one that offered to meet Floyd at Catchweight. In his own words … yet here you are propagating untruths.

Of course Floyd sabotaged his legacy fight. He should have given Nelo a rematch also. If GGG asked floyd to fight at 154, do you really think GGG would ideally want to fight Floyd at 154, or do you think GGG would request that as he thinks its only chance to get floyd in ring? Of course GGG would like to fight Floyd at 160 ideally. Its floyds job to say no, he wants fight at 160, otherwise hes sabotaging his legacy fight again.
Nelo didnt ask GGG to fight at 158 did he? Pac didnt ask thurman or Spence to fight at 145 did he?Last edited by hugh grant; 04-07-2022, 10:52 AM.Comment
