  • Comments Thread For: Arum on Fury Retiring After Whyte: He Might Stick Around For a Big Fight, Maybe Joshua or Usyk

Bob Arum is not entirely convinced that Tyson Fury will hang up the gloves after his fight with Dillian Whyte, not when the prospect of making incredible money against a big-name opponent still looms.

I imagine if he can face Usyk after he beats AJ Fury will stick around for that. If he can't get that next he may just step away. He has a lot of different things he can jump into next.

I thought for a while in the title above Arum is the one retiring.

I'd actually love to see video of the sparring sessions between Fury and Anderson.

Arum is right with this, besides Usyk and/ or Joshua, who would really get Fury up for a fight.

Must unify with Usyk after this tuneup. No need to reward 2x recently defeated Joshua. For comparison, best HW of his era Lennox Lewis never fought the similar 4th best HW of his era Michael Moorer.

There’s still food on the table, it would be good to see him fight both Joshua/Usyk (regardless of the results in the fights against themselves) and one of the up and comers either Hergovic/Joyce/Yoka. That would Cement his legacy as one of the top heavyweights ever.

I have said it for months that it is Joshua & Usyk. If Usyk wins the rematch with Joshua i see Fury fighting Usyk & regardless if he wins or loses that fight I expect one final cash out fight with Joshua. Those are the only 2 he fights unless Joshua wins the Usyk rematch then I expect 2 fights with Joshua. So let me make it clear he isn’t ducking Hrgovic or any other HW like the usual nuthuggers claim. If you are not a draw & bring no money to the table Fury ain’t fighting you. Usyk & Joshua or 2 fights with Joshua is the ONLY fights he will take. If he loses to Whyte I would expect him to hang it up…

Yes, should fight usyk and josh, the man who beat you in sparring. Fury is lucky to have 2 dance partners available in his time.
Fury has to train to keep demons away that haunt him anyway, the routine is good for his mental health. What's the alternative? You will never again be in this kind of shape and fitnees, so might as well make use of it and get every ounce out of it

You can train regularly without being in proper fighting condition. Fury mentioned opening a HW boxing gym which would keep him active and busy.

Plus, the mental stress of dealing with boxing politics and event build-ups must be huge, even if he is one to laugh things off.

Fury saying he's retiring after Whyte is some attention whore shit. Good fighter but jesus christ...
