Comments Thread For: Fury Says Johsua, Whyte Were Trying To Control Everything During Step-Aside Talks

Tyson Fury, the 33-year-old WBC titleholder from Manchester, talked about the various "step aside" scenarios that came up during his negotiations to fight countryman mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte. There was talk that Fury could simply bypass the Jamaican-born, London native Whyte to face WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine for a full heavyweight unification bout this spring, but that would have been contingent on getting permission from Anthony Joshua, who had a contractual rematch clause with Usyk, and Whyte. In the end, with far too many variables at play, a deal for a step aside fell apart. Fury's team blamed it on Joshua for asking for a larger fee.

Bit rich coming from the team that spent 3 years fighting Wilder and could have had an undisputed fight with Joshua last year.

I don’t wait for other people to decide what they’re going to do with my career.
That's quite literally exactly what he did

Joshua had a contract for a Usyk rematch. Whyte had a mandatory shot ordered.

Fury was the one trying to negotiate to have them step aside. And he waited, and waited.

So it’s A.Js fault for asking what is owed to him ?

On top of that Fury isn’t fighting to just about May anyway the end of April ,to make excuses he wasn’t waiting until May for Usyk is ridiculous as the excuse as well .

In the step aside deal, he was going to fight in March then Usyk in June. Except AJ demanded more money and Fury told him to stuff it.

Now he is having to fight later than his ideal date. Not that hard to understand, is it?

Fury talks absolute nonsense 24/7 . I really wish he made sense at least half the time but that’s even to far a stretch . . Smh

This is all just he says she says and has no impact on anything relevant. I just hope by the end of the year we the undisputed fight, regardless of who’s in it, fighters/promoters/networks get their arse in gear and make the fight.

Shameless bodybuilder tried to rob Fury. I guess Hearn couldn't feed him enough with money.
