Zurdo Ramirez Vs David Benavidez At 175

If David Benavidez wants the Canelo sweepstakes, he should move up and fight Zurdo Ramirez at 175. David Benavidez needs a dance partner that would be his breakthrough fight. Charlo doesn't seem interested. He isn't a big enough star to move up and challenge Beterbiev/Joe Smith winner for their title. This would be a star making fight, and I can almost guarantee Canelo would fight Benavidez in 2023 if he were to win this fight.

Completely true, Benevidez needs to grow some nuts & fight at lhw v an actual threat, ANY threat, even Zurdo who I think would win.

So Canelo would be more likely to fight Benavidez if he beat Zurdo? You really don't get it do you? It would make it even less likely, considering he is already ducking him. If Benavidez went to 175, Canelo would go back to 168.

As for the fight, they are friends and have sparred alot so I think a fight is unlikely. David would smash him if they fought, Zurdo struggled with a journeyman last fight.

They both knock Canelo’s ass out. There’s a reason why Canelo only moved up to 168 once Zurdo moved up to 175 and why Canelo only went for undisputed at 168 when Benavidez lost his belt.

Canelo isn't ducking anyone. He's going after champions. If Benavidez was a champion, he would get the call. Why isn't he calling out Morrell Jr who's the regular WBA champ?
