Is Angel Fernandez A Good Trainer For AJ

Did Anthony Joshua make the right choice or should he have gone with someone with more experience?

I think after a certain point in a fighters career, a trainer is not going to make a big impact.

With novices yes, with people who have never thrown a punch in a ring yes. But not with Olympic and former two time heavyweight champion, with multiple 1000's upon 1000's of hours of training behind them.

At this stage of Joshua's career, he knows everything already 'About himself' He has won fights, he has been in tough fights, he has lost fights, he has risen and came back. Anthony Joshua has learnt more about himself as a fighter than Tyson Fury, Joshua has been tested more. Any fighter that has lost a fight, and is then forced to comeback and face that same fighter again 'Is overcoming a obstacle that a unbeaten fighter, will never know if they can come through'.

It is just whether he can apply it inside the ring. The best trainer for Joshua at this stage of his career, is somebody he likes to work with and can get him to attack training with a intensity.

It is not that Joshua cannot learn anything new, people and fighters can always learn. But like I said, it is whether they can apply it inside the ring. Joshua has had a dip in form, because he has stopped doing certain things inside the ring. His offense has gone backwards, his offense at mid-range which was his ultimate strength has gone missing.

In order win back his titles, he has to bring back that offense. He also needs to if possible, learn how to actually use some rough house tactics 'Mess a fighter up in the inside, use his dimensions' <<<<< all the great super heavyweights can do this, all accept Anthony Joshua.

I don't think it matters at this point. AJ's shown his hand and he is what you see. I don't think you're going to see much more improvements at this stage of his career. We know he's vulnerable, has OKAY boxing ability but can punch as well, that's no doubt. I'm not sure how much more he wants to keep going at it since he reached the pinnacle and lost it.

I'd still give Wilder a chance if they fought though. You can never rule out a puncher against a chinny dude.

No. He won’t have the authority to change anything. He’ll be training on AJ’s schedule. AJ’s probably at a stage were he just wants to do things his way. I actually think this could be his last fight if he loses again.
