    Amir Khan's Punching Power?

Does he have power? I realise he didn't drop Kotelnik but then neither did Maidana. I ask because Maidana has a bit of a dodgy chin himself and if they fight does khan have the power to drop or Ko Maidana? If he has that then i have to lean toward khan, because i think khan is faster and more skilled than maidana and can land a lot of shots before maidana can land the bomb.

    what do you think?

I reckon he can hurt Maidana. His power ain't spectacular but it seems to be passable at the top level

It's his punch accuracy more then his punch power that will do damage.

Prescott turned Khan from an offensive fighter with power to a running little ***** trying to win on points...

I dunno about his punching power. never really struck me as that strong.

but his speed is top notch. one of the fastest guys around right now, non doubt.
that speed can create plenty of KOs on its own, if Khan can get the timing down.

He's not a very strong individual but he has great power. This power comes from his good punching technique, his accuracy and outstanding speed.

Ortiz had all of those same qualities over Maidana, a better chin than Kahn, and he failed to stop him.

I don't think Maidana's chin is dodgy; I think it's average. Ortiz has good pop at 140, and yeah Maidana went down three times, but IMO, he didn't really look all that hurt or dazed.

I think Khan's power is average for 140. He wasn't much of a hitter at 135 and in the Kotelnik fight it looked like a lot of his punches didn't have much power behind them. But then again, Kotelnik has a good chin and high guard, and Khan didn't really hit him flush with a hard shot.
