Watch Marquez vs Pacquiao 2 to see what I think will be a close representation of what the Marquez Mayweather fight might look like
    May i ask why???

I totally agree. I'm not a Floyd fan but this is pretty obvious. I don't know how people can see the Marquez vs Mayweather any other way but a straight up blow out ready to happen. I've been telling all my Mexican boxing fan friends this but they refuse to listen. I even have two bets going: One for Mayweather to beat Marquez straight up for a a bottle of Patron, the other against Marquez dropping Mayweather for a case of Corona... Looks like I'll be drinking this weekend..lol.

What if Marquez gave him a taste of his own medicine? Picture this. Marquez enters the fight waiting for Floyd, even throwing in some shoulder rolls for good measure. Imagine Marquez waiting on Floyd and fighting a totally defensive style, occasionally feinting, waiting for "Money" to make a move and countering? Imagine him keeping this up for 1, 2 or three rounds? Do this until Floyd gets frustrated thinking WTF? He could be thrown off by this strategy, become more and more aggressive, committing and paying the price, with Marquez now countering and dictaing the pace, completely reversing roles. What are your thoughts?

I, dought the Marquez camp would even consider such a stategy. The only chance Marquez has is to seriously work Floyd's body early and take it to him in the championship rounds seeking the K.O. Dought it but its the only rational strategy that gives him a slim chance of winning.

I don't think Marquez was thinking about defense against Diaz, I think he was in warrior mode that night.

The reason why I think the fight will resemble Marquez Pacquiao 2 is because both fighters were mainly focused on defense that night. Marquez knows Mayweather likes fighting against pressure fighters with poor defense and excels against those fighters. Marquez also knows Mayweather has never ever fought a counterpuncher with good defense, much less an expert counterpuncher like Marquez.

Mark my words, Marquez will be in counterpunching mode this Saturday.

I personally wouldn't consider Marquez as a pressure fighter, more of a skillful boxer counter puncher/brawler IMO. Also, I would say Castillo and Oscar were both pressure fighters and they definitely showed good defense against Mayweather. That was one thing i felt throw Floyd off in his first fight with Castillo, was the fact that he was able to come in behind a tight defense, pick off punches and skillfully get on the inside( and keep in mind that Mayweather was moving up to Castillo's weight class) and work Floyd's body. I also think that both versions of Castillo and Oscar that Floyd beat, would beat Marquez pretty handily.

So with that being said, i think if Marquez was to adopt a pressure style, he would be coming out of what he is naturally, and that can become costly in a big fight and against Floyd Mayweather, not to mention he's moving up to a weight class that Mayweather has been for about 6 years. Taking all of this into account, i cannot see Marquez being effective against Mayweather unless hes extremely rusty or just past his prime. IMO its a borderline mismatch.

TS, it sounds like a bad idea and like he will be beaten to the punch every time. If JMM tries to employ a counter punching defensive style against someone who does it better like Floyd then it will end up looking like what RJJ did to Ruiz.

LOL PBF can't come forward like Juan Diaz can. If he did he would be completely out of his element and would practically be handing JMM the fight on a silver platter.

Floyd is going to want to slow this fight way way way down. A lot of Clinching, running, and show boating, If he can throw some elbows in to the mix even better for him. But I don't think he will be able to throw as many as he did with hatton. (I think he landed more elbows than punches hahaha).

Marquez should wait for floyd to come to him. If floyd still runs around the ring like a twat against a significantly smaller man. I'm not ever going to watch him fight again even against Pac( Ok that not true ).. But seriously floyd would look like a big puss if he lets a smaller, older, slower fighter do the stalking.
