This may offend, but I had Canelo winning the first fight with all the stuff he was doing, I can't even remember that fight but I had Canelo winning. In the second fight, I can't even remember anything about it except GGG brutally stepping up his cardio and throwing more punches as the fight wore on. I was drinking Michelob s and eating chicken at a buddies while ggg- Canelo 1 happened. Some of the casuals there were impressed with that fight. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Canelo objectively won both fights.

It's OK to have an opinion. No, really. Elevating subjective opinion into a rank of an objective fact is a delusion of grandeur. And thinking Canelo won the first fight is simply a delusion.

Canelo got busted for Clenbuterol, Golovkin called him out on it and Canelo took it personally for some reason. Canelo was upset that his opponent called him out for his drug abuse. I mean, C'mon... Don't take Clen.

Remember,
Golovkin and Canelo sparred many years ago in a famous session.
During that time,
they had immense respect for one another.
When Canelo got popped for tainted beef,
Canelo thought Golovkin would be more understanding,
since they had this seemingly immense mutual respect.
Golovkin chose to not believe Canelo,
so Canelo took that personally due to their shared history.

At this point GGG is just a stay busy fight after a tough fight with Bivol. He always said he would do the trilogy fight if Hearn made it worth it. DAZN and Oscar De La Hoya tried some funny business to get him to do it at his regular DAZN rate.
Then Canelo flexed on them and got out of his deal and now DAZN is ponying up $50 million plus to give GGG that retirement send off.
