Would hopkins have beat canelo when he was a light heavyweight

Hopkins would have took canelo to school with his counter punching and defense would have made him miss a lot and his foot movement would have been too much for canelo hopkins by 12 round decision

I don't think so. Hopkins could beat the lower 175 guys who were still good like a Pascal and Cloud but lost to the better guys like Kovalev and Dawson. I think the Canelo of now would beat that version of BHop

I tend to agree strongly with this comment.

He was 49 years old when he fought Kovalev and 47 or 48 when he fought Dawson..

While still beating the less skilled guys like Pascal, Cloud, Shumenov. He beat Cloud after losing to Dawson as a matter of fact

The Hopkins who beat Tarvar & Pavlik would beat Canelo Alvarez.

But there on after that, I think Hopkins level decreased.

Stylistically Alvarez is not a nightmare for Hopkins. If you struggle to move, and are mostly a plodding type of fighter 'Then you are in big trouble vs Hopkins'.

I don't understand what Alvarez does what will bother Hopkins?

Nonsense. Hopkins has not said anything of the sort.

Sort this out mate, no need to make stuff up.

Stylistically this is not a good match up for Alvarez.

Hopkins is too awkward and crafty for Canelo. Hopkins by Unanimous Decision 116-112 or 115-113

Clean? Nah, probably not I don't reckon, not LHW.

Dirty, like with headbutts, nut punches, rabbit shots, and stalling then yeah I favor Hop. He's one of the best cheaters to lace up.
