  • Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury: Whyte, Chisora Very Similar In Stature, Weight, Style; Handled That Style Plenty

Tyson Fury has already beaten an opponent twice that he considers very similar to Dillian Whyte. The unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion thinks Dereck Chisora deserved a victory over Whyte in their first fight. Whyte's upcoming opponent also feels Chisora should've been ahead on the cards when Whyte knocked him out in the 11th round of their rematch.

Very true, similar build and stature, slightly different styles, Chisora and Whyte.

Fury has more in his arsenal, but it's not a bad fight.

Tbh, I don’t see them as having a similar style at all. Admittedly, they’re both fairly flat footed, and look similar-ish if you squint, but Whyte is a more technical boxer, a far smarter boxer, and a more economical puncher.

Watching Whyte’s previous few, even when Povetkin sparked him, he’s been controlling fights, picking the right shots, not forcing things; just tactically sound. Far better IQ than given credit for.

Compare to Chisora who wastes his tank in minute 1 of round 1 and punches wildly on empty for the rest of the fight. There’s no comparison.

Btw, I say all this as a fully signed up, card-carrying member of the Chisora fan club, and I don’t even like watching whyte! Gotta be realistic though.

The world heavyweight champion and greatest living Englishman is correct. Chisora won more rounds in his 2 fights with a possibly juiced to the max Whyte. Fury has improved dramatically since, while Whyte has been dropped by a who’s who of division and flattened by a pegleg elder
