    Gatti-Mayweather purse bid?!?!?!

Let's see, Gatti won the vacant WBC 140-lb title in January '04 versus a bum, and has fought 2 lightweight bums who weren't in the top 2 in the WBC rankings since that fight, and Mayweather has been the #1 WBC contender since he beat Corley last May.....

Where's the purse bid? Why isn't the WBC mandating that Gatti fight Mayweather next?

I'll answer my own question: Shenanigans!!!!

Gatti fans, please respond with your lousy excuses, thank you

Er? Mayweather is the one who backed out. Not Gatti. The purse offered was fair.

Oh, I like Gatti because he is fun to watch...but I'm not blind. I didn't give him much of a chance with Mayweather. But the negotiation fell apart because of Mayweather....not Gatti. His camp was ready to go.

Gatti is scared and doesnt want to fight but the purse bid doesnt help Floyd at all because the Champ will recieve 75%

75% is pretty much the norm for most title fights. 25% of a fight with Gatti is alot more than the 50% he would get fighting almost all others at 140lbs. Gatti is the draw...like it or not. Mayweather couldn't even sell out his home town.

I rather see it go onto a purse bid than no Gatti-Mayweather this summer at all.

Little off topic but if by some miracle was to happen and Hatton beats Kostya anybody think Floyd will go after Hatton instead of Gatti? Could be alot more money fighting at Hatton hometown than fighting Gatti here.

IF they could make that fight, it would have to be on September at the earliest. That's a long inactivity for Floyd. Even he were to fight somebody else this summer, a fight, especially a win over Gatti would make him an attraction.

The better option would be the winner of Gatti-Mayweather and Tszyu-Hatton facing each other. But then again, Tszyu is a SHO fighter. So that could be more difficult than what's happening now.

Call me a hater, but I was hoping this fight would happen and I was hoping that PBF would get his ass kicked. Kostya should not have a problem beating up on Ricky, I don't think he will go for Gatti of PBF. I think once he gets past Hatton, he will move into the Welters and try to get a shot at either the Champ Judah or the big money fight against ODLH.
