Tank may be the most overrated boxer today. I honestly think Porter does everything better except punching power. Discuss???
Is Grevonta Davis any better than Shawn Porter?

Agreed, but Shawn was always chomping at the bit to prove himself at the highest levels. It remains to be seen if Tank has the same appetite to test himself. Sort of a strange post because I don't really see what the parallels to draw between them are.Comment

I don't see the parallels either, but this is the topic so just going with it. Tank has time, but I agree, I think he needs to start by at latest next year at fighting the best of the best to see who is boss. Porter is/was a world class fighter as well, just lacked on elite gift that the greats have, and Tank, he has that one punch power. Nash out.Comment

It's not about opposition, more about things I can see in fighters, at any level. If you have something, you have it, and Davis does imo. Porter is all about grit and desire, but he doesn't have it. Personal opinion, but I believe Tank will prove me right. I was telling everyone that Fury had it, over a decade over, but at that time many HW's would have beaten him, but he had that something, that if honed, as it was by Peter Fury, he could be special, and he is. Nash out.Comment

two totally different styles of fighting. i don't think tank is just power, or just speed...he has some good fundamentals to go with the talent and athleticism. a better comparison would probably be tank and zab judah. tank is definitely a more talented fighter than porter but i don't know if he has the same grit or work ethic in the gym. porter gets my nod for inside fighting, i don't really think tank likes it at that range.

Nope, he's still unproven. Not sure what he's waiting for, I guess so long as he can earn a decent payday fighting drained fighters and hype jobs he'll keep doing that so he can protect his precious "0" in the loss column.Comment
