Interim fight a good idea for Joshua. Work on things. His best chance against better brain, better chin and better skills of Usyk

Agreed. The interim fight would also help reignite interest in a fight with the Fury/Whyte winner if Usyk still isn't available towards the end of the year.

It's a no brainer at this point. The question is the quality of the opponent.

Time on top is short. AJ has been ejected twice, he has a problem no trainer can fix. Times up.

Big wooden hypejob only beats shot 38-41 year olds, check his record (4 of 6) & the last 2 he boxed of his own generation both beat him, coincidence?

He's been carefully matched by Rematchroom never facing a top 2 heavyweight & is only relevant through paperwork. Upgrading a yes man to try & train a wooden horse not to rock, whatever.

I don't believe he'll take an interim, to fragile. If it isn't a Wilder, Joyce or Sanchez I don't want to know, oh no, just realised 48 yr old Ortiz who fall's over from a Martin jab

Obviously, all the top American trainers likely told him there’s nothing they can do for him. He’s now “elevated” another yes man. Great job Anthony “bugaloo” Johnston!

Only if he beats a Joyce, hrgovic or Sanchez. Beating Anybody else wouldnt Create a demand to watch him fight fury.

Stop day dreaming. Joshua will fight a 40 year old can like usual.

I don't see it being any of those names you mentioned either. I can see it being a Helenius or similar
But you're wrong, it's about selling tickets and PPVs to typical fans, not being deserving in the eyes of hardcore fans.

A Hrgovic or Sanchez win wouldn't move the needle in the UK at all, they're total unknowns. Joyce would. It isn't the US market you would be primarily targeting... If AJ were to beat somebody decently ranked and a bit of a name in the UK, like Helenius, that drum, rightly or wrongly, would start being beaten again. And the promoters would do it because it makes money

Would taking an interim fight invalidate his contractual right to an immediate rematch?

I’d love to see him fight Joyce, your deffo speaking sense and I agree with your point about nobody in the U.K. really knows the names I mentioned.

But If AJ were to beat Joyce, I still wouldn’t see how that correlates to a demand for fury/AJ. It’s not even intriguing anymore imho. I think Whyte has better chance to beat fury than Joshua does.

The shame is, especially in Britain fighters are out there who are extremely talented, but because they don’t shift hundreds or thousands of tickets, they’re left and ignored.

boxing now is becoming more and more a popularity contest or beauty pageant. People remember winners before they remember “ticket sellers”

when you or friends discuss thrilla in Manila, do you all debate how much they got, how many tickets sold, how much did promoters and tv networks earn.

or do you discuss the fighting and bravery shown by both men and what both guys achieved IN the Ring afterwards?
