Floyd Mayweathers Online Chat Transcript From Yesterday

    3:39
Michael David Smith: Welcome to the FanHouse live chat with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Floyd will join us at 5 PM ET, and you can start posting your questions now.

    3:56
Michael David Smith: Floyd will be on in about five minutes. Keep the questions coming.

    4:10
    [Comment From jonathan]
Floyd has making the catch weight been difficult or is the lower weight natrual for you?

    4:11
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather: Yeah, it's a welterweight fight and I'll be ready to go on Saturday night.

    4:11
    [Comment From Charlie]
Where do you think you rank in boxing history? Do you consider yourself the best ever?

    4:12
Michael David Smith: I'll let the fans judge that when my career is over. I want to take on the best compettiion over the course of my career. I want to control the things I can control, which is to fight the best in my era. I can't fight the people from Ray Leonard's era or any other era, but I want to beat the best in my era.

    4:12
    [Comment From Jerome]
Is Marquez the best opponent you have fought? I think he is better than Hatton or De La Hoya.

    4:12
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr Come Saturday night I guess we'll find out. I know he's a tremendous fighter. At this point I can't say if he's the best I've fought because I haven't faced him yet, but tune in Saturday and be the judge of that.

    4:13
    [Comment From wayne]
Do you think the 24/7 show portrays you fairly? In my opinion Juan Manuel Marquez is made out to be a nice family man and you're made out to be the villain

    4:13
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: I have a problem with some things that have been done on that. But that's all I'll say. Next question.

    4:13
    [Comment From Kim]
Do you really hate the UFC? I like both MMA and boxing and I wish they weren't on at the same time.

    4:14
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather: I don't hate anybody. I'm not the least bit concerned with what they're doing. They're totally separate businesses. They do what they do and I do what I do and I'm not the least bit concerned with what they're doing.

    4:14
    [Comment From Doug]
What did you think of Bob Arum's comments concerning you? Were you surprised?

    4:15
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather jr: I haven't heard what Bob Arum said but the bottom line is that Bob Arum is a very old, grumpy man, and he is just mad because he got out-smarted by my team. It's as simple as that. Beyond that I don't get caught up in what people say about me. He's mad becuse he got outsmarted. That's the bottom line.

    4:15
    [Comment From Steve]
What did you do while you were off the past two years? What made you decide to come back now?

    4:16
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: I spent a lot of quality time with my kids. I've taken some time just to get to know myself better. The fans are what made me decide to come back now, because no matter where I went, they asked me when I was coming back. My decison to come back was based on that.

    4:16
    [Comment From Shawn Poe]
After you put the beats on Marquez will you go about your retirement?

    4:17
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: No. I'm looking to make the biggest fights that are out there. My focus is solely on Saturday night and nothing else.

    4:17
    [Comment From Shawn Poe]
What song will you come out to on saturday?

    4:17
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: If I tell you that, it takes away the element of surprise. You have to tune in Saturday night and you'll get an answer to that one.

    4:17
    [Comment From Lou]
Floyd..how are you My question is after you destroy Juan is Manny next on your radar?

    4:18
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: I'm not thinking about nobody else but Marquez. All roads lead through me anyway. No matter what anybody says, all roads lead through me, so I'm not thinking about any other guys. I don't chase fights, I create them.

    [Comment From Ryne]
Have you trained differently than you would against other oponents?
    4:19
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: I wouldn't say any differently. It's just been a matter of conditioning, since I've been off for so long I've had to work on a lot of things. The first couple days I went in the gym, the first day I boxed eight rounds, and then since then I've been fine tuning a lot of things to get my sharpness back. Come Saturday night I'll be ready for everything.

    4:19
    [Comment From Joel]
What did you think of JM drinking his own pee

    4:19
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: If drinking his pee and getting in an oxygen chamber is going to help him, then so be it. He's got to do what he's got to do. But come Saturday night, he's going to have to deal with me.

    4:19
    [Comment From stevo]
are you an your father getting along in the gym i always like him as well as roger but you could be the greatest of all time

    4:20
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: Everything is coming along great. I'm glad to have my father back in my life. Most important is that we have a father-son relationship. Training is going great, it's been good having him around, but more important is having a father-son relationship.

    4:20
    [Comment From Brian C]
Floyd huge fan! how long do you see the fight going and do you predict a knockout

    4:21
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: I won't predict that but I am going to predict it'll be a great, great fight. He's coming to give it everything he's got. His trainers are counting on him, he doesn't want to let all his Mexican fans down come Saturday night, and I know he's going to bring his A-game. I always bring my A-game, so don't expect anything but a great fight. That's what I predict, a great fight.

    4:21
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: Marquez has a tremendous amount of support. A lot of people believe in him. It's up to me on Saturday night.

    4:21
    [Comment From armando silva]
what do you think are marquez flaws? and how do you plan to take advantage of them?

    4:22
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr; If I tell you that I'm telling you my game plan. Why would I want to do that? Tune in Saturday and I'll show you better than I can tell you.

    4:22
    [Comment From Carlton]
Does it concern you that you have not fought in 2 years and you are stepping back in the ring with a fighter as good as Marquez?

    4:23
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: I never considered anything other than fighting the best. Marquez is considered either the best or second-best fighter in the world. In my eyes he beat Pacquiao in both the fights, so Marquez is an outstanding fighter who's been the best for a number of years. I gave no consideration to fighting anybody but the best. He's undeniably the best.

    4:23
    [Comment From Mike]
What is your advice to a young fighter who wants to get in the game ?

    4:24
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: My best advice is to work hard, be the best you can be and surround yourself with a positive team. Be sure you have good representation.

    4:24
    [Comment From harry]
is your father gonna be in your corner ?

    4:25
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: Tune in and see. I don't like telling what's going to happen in advance. I want you to tune in and see.

    4:25
    [Comment From Eric L]
Since you are already undefeated and are fighting boxers that are the best right now, would you have anything more to prove if you won your next 3-5 matches?

    4:25
Michael David Smith: Floyd Mayweather Jr: No, I don't have anything more to prove. I just want to continue to be the best I can be, and give the fans the biggest and best fights.

    4:26
Michael David Smith: That's all the time Floyd has for today. Thanks to everyone for joining us.

There was absolutely nothing that I haven't already heard in that interview from other interviews. All the decent questions were answered with "Tune in Saturday night".

i like how this review gets no replys, yet anything that has a tabloid-like headline is loaded with 20 pages.

                    Good responses from Mayweather.......

He cant fight the fighters from the past era's and I think it is unfair for people to hold him to that standard. None of the fighters today can fight the fighters from the past. Mayweather has always faced top competition at the time he fought them.

If Mayweather beats Marquez alot of HATERS will dismiss the victory, but just like Mayweather said Marquez is universally recognized as the P4P #2 fighter on the planet & he is fighting him after a 2 year lay off. The fact that Marquez has been active when Floyd was retired cancels out the "Mayweather is making him move up" chatter. Marquez and his team have stated they are confident about their chances and they are fine at the weight, so there should be no knocks on any fighter if they win or lose. This will be Marquez at his best & Mayweather at his best and the winner of this fight will be the BETTER fighter. It will have nothing to do with Layoffs or Weight Gain. These guys are Master Boxers and they know their bodies. No Excuses come saturday night.....MAY THE BEST MAN WIN
