That used to be the way fighters get fights.

Now fighters get fights and titles through twitter and emailing.

One of these guys resume is littered with Ring top 10 fighters, high risk-low reward fighters, former champions, and Hall of Famers. And that is Canelo Alvarez.

These guys with thin resumes. The thinner the resume, the louder they are about wanting that payday.

No one wants to work for that payday anymore.

Anyone who criticises Canelo for fighting Bivol is simply a hater and/or LDBC/PBC fanboy. Bivol is a much tougher fight than both Charlo and Benavidez. I pick Bivol against Canelo because Bivol has all the tools to beat Canelo. Bivol beat undefeated Felix Valera, Sullivan Barrera, Isaac Chilemba, Jean Pascal, Joe Smith. And he beat them decisively. Avni Yildirim arguably beat Dirrell who is the only decent name in Benavidez's record. And Yildirim was a tune-up fight between Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders, two world title holders. People talk a lot of **** about Rocky Fielding. If Canelo fights Benavidez it will end exactly like Rocky Fielding fight because Benavidez has a huge torso and terrible footwork. I don't care if he has a little pops in his hands. If you hate on Canelo vs. Bivol fight, you're just a hater.

Those were tuneups. Fielding was three months after the GGG rematch and Yildirim was squeezed in between Callum Smith in December and Billy Joe Saunders in May.
