Not a big deal to me. He got the win that he shouldn't have but he's clearly a big 140pounder. Catteral should focus on the other guys in the division. Use this newfound fame to set yourself up moving forward.

I’ll never understand the way the rankings work. Seems like most of the time the absolute worst guys are ranked the highest. Then when you get guys like Prograis who is clearly the #2 or 3 guy at 140 and he doesn’t appear in the top rankings for any of the sanctioning bodiesComment

I don't understand that - the only thing I can think of is that he is not with a major promoter and he hasn't paid a backhander to any of the alphabets

The irony, Jack Catterall stepped-aside to allow Josh Taylor to realize his dream in fighting for the jr. welterweight undisputed crown. Yet, the weasel who has said that he can make 140 without any struggle and could possibly finish his career at jr. welterweight will not rematch 'El Gato' at the jr. welterweight limit, nor consider dropping a title and defending the rest of the belts in a necessary rematch.
What's the matter 'Tart-Tomato'? Are you afraid that unknown Jack Catterall will cost you that Gervonta Davis payday? Those American PPV dollars with legitimate P4P champions?Comment

Taylor did good and I gave Josh his credit. He used his size and rude conduct, but he unified. This catchweight proposition, after that carny scam decision, is just adding insult to injury.Comment

'Down the line.....at catchweight' , seems that Josh doesn't want to know. He said before the fight he had plans of moving up and fighting big names and said he had no problem making 140 ....lucky for Josh it wasn't Crawford in there with him. Jack was robbed of the glory as he won the fight clearly. Before all this denial I was well behind Josh and couldn't believe that he was telling fans he actually won the fight, sorry Josh we saw the fight! Give him an immediate rematch!!Comment

Good points! Obviously the "honourable" thing to do would be rematch catterall immediately at 140, preferably for all the titles. However, when did honour ever count for anything in the business of pro boxing??

The "next best" (if that's a thing here) would be to stick with the line of "not being able to safely make 140 any more", vacate all titles, go to 147, and just leave catterall in the rear view mirror.Comment

I find Taylor's predicament hilarious, he sounds like Teofimo Lopez. I remember when Teo called out Josh Taylor for a 'catchweight' then Lopez got beat and claimed that he could no longer make 135, is that karma for you?

With luck, the WBO keeps Jack Catterall at #2. just behind Liam Paro who is at #1., and speaking of Teo can you believe that he is #3. by the WBO? The jr. welterweight division is going to be very interesting for the remainder of 2022.Comment
