Benavides a good fighter but he clearly lacks defensive skills to be able to evade canelo counters hands he big yes he strong that too but we've see canelo able to adapt w those kind fighters besides as Benavides said himself hes only going to get better as keep gaining experience over years making it even more dangerous for canelo and any other smw or even lhw of course he needs to put some quality names on his rec that fight will eventually happenComment

Yeah he got stripped for doing the same exact things Canelo did, missing weight and failing a vada test. He just didn’t get the luxury of being able to change the contracted weight days before the fight like Canelo did and didn’t have his failed Vada test result in a title fight in his very next fight like Canelo did. With fielding, I asked at the time, why fight that fake champ and not the guy who had the real belt in the organization. It was a legit question and it only took 2 years for Canelo to finally do that AFTER he saw Ryder kick smiths ass. You act like time stays still. He waited 2 yrs just like he did with ggg. I’ve always said, Canelo waits for vulnerability and that’s what he did then. He’s barely fought anyone coming off an impressive win where they looked dominant. He waits for them to look like ass and then he takes the fight.
