in the top 5 greats of rican fighters? I thought he had some of the fastest hands in the game, and good ring smarts. but the ricans don't talk about him much?

Champion in 3 different weight classes.... he had raw skill and talent ... honestly, very few fighters in the history of boxing had the potential that Macho manifested... He was fast, smart, savvy, and had power in both hands. His footwork was truly unmatched but his aggression shifted after he faced Edwin Rosario, and his style went from boxer puncher, to pure boxer.

Bottom line is yes- definitely top 5 all time PR fighter.

I dont think I could ever put Camacho Sr. in PR's top 5. Dont get me wrong, his credentials speak volumes and his speed was unmatch. Prior to Rosario, he was definitely a threat to anyone and on the verge of going down as one of PR's Greatest. Post Rosario, he turned into a pure entertaining track star in the ring. I think PR would better off if he was Dominican.

Bendito. I think he died of an overdose. And a lot of people thought Chapo beat Camacho Sr. that fight.

I definitely think Camacho Sr. is in PR's top ten, but certainly not top 5.

Camacho was a great boxer, with excellent skills. I believe one the reason many of the younger generation don't talk alot about him is because of the ages of many of our posters. Camacho was in the pre Tito era, and it was pretty much Tito that gave the younger generation an Icon in boxing. I'm from the Gomez, Benitez, Escalera, Serrano, De Jesus era, and back then there was no cable access. LOL, funny but true, if we wanted to watch the good fights, we had to find a place where you could pay for Closed Circuit T.V., or go see the fight live, if it was in your town, which not all of us could afford. But yes, Camacho was a P.R. top ten, no doubt about it.

His son on the other hand...............LOL (apple here......tree waaaaaaaay ovher there, get my drift?)
