A fight with Canelo was already in the works, but it never materialized since Canelo chose to face a far lower-risk opponent in Matthew Hatton for the vacant WBC light middleweight title. Because Bivol hasn’t scored a KO over a good opponent since Sullivan Barrera in March 2018 and that was in the 12th round haha. 4 years and this guy hasn’t even KO lesser opponents, don’t say he’s dangerous.

Are you aware that this is not possible because Golden Boy Promotion and Top Rank Boxing have a cold war and refuse to allow their fighters to compete in inter-promotional events? You must also remember that Dela Hoya, as Canelo's promoter at the time, does not want to feed Canelo to Pacquiao, who is clearly in his prime. And, while I agree that Margarito was weight drained and that the fight should never have been a title fight, the WBC is a corrupt sanctioning body that wants that purse.

Well, he is busy this year so others will have to fight each other to make a case for themselves. He can't fight all of them at the same time. If he fights Charlo and wins, Charlo was too small. If he fights Benavides and win, he didn't have a good record and got hit too much in the first place and also had problems making weight. If he beats Bivol, he was never good to start with and if he beats GGG, he was too old.

There will never be a good enough opponent after he beats him. He goes and fights Betebiev and if he wins they will say that he was too old.

That would have been a good excuse at the time. Canelo will walk through any boxer his weight 110%; he's an animal, but he doesn't take that many risks.
