We have all seen how Usyk looks rusty when he has long layoffs, well it's already been 6 months and he's not fighting any time soon, and when he eventually does its not going to be vs Derek Chisora.
Fury is already on the ATG list, why?

Because he's not far off overtaking some of them.

He fought a 40 plus year old champ in one of the most boring fights in history to take the title. Then he fights a champ with one of the weakest resumes in the history of heavyweight boxing three times with a few stiffs tossed in for good measure over seven years.. Not sure how that gets him anywhere near the ATG list.

            Let's talk Holyfield.

Won the titles off Buster Douglas who was halfway to eating himself into a diabetic coma

Out pointed 50 year old George Foreman

Out pointed 50 year old Larry Holmes

Lost x2 to Bowe (won one but lost the trilogy)

Lost to blown up light heavyweight glass jaw moorer

Beat shot Tyson x2 who'd already been ktfo by bum Douglas and was "never the same" after prison

Robbery draw and loss vs lewis

            Lost to John Ruiz

BTW I love holyfield and definatley rate him an ATG, but your argument is a shallow one and doesn't hold any weight.

This is such a bad post, you honestly should feel embarrassed. In no way is it "talking Holyfield." It's purely a dishonest attempt to sully a legend's career in order to prop up Tyson Fury's s**t resume. And it is s**t. You're fooling no one (except maybe yourself).

Cruiserweight champ in twelve fights, five title defenses, unified the division, moved up and became unified heavyweight champion whilst still undefeated. Myriad classic fights, fought everybody, ATG career.

                Lennox Lewis x2
                Mike Tyson x2
                Rid**** Bowe x3
                Dwight Muhammad Qawi x2
                Michael Moorer x2
George Foreman and Larry Holmes (both of whom were 42, not 50)
                Ray Mercer
                Buster Douglas

                Compared to Fury:
                Wlad Klitschko
                Deontay Wilder x3
Has made one defense of a heavyweight title, total.

I suppose if you wanna be generous you could throw in Dereck Chisora(x2) and Steve Cunningham, though in that case you should also add in many lesser opponents from Holyfield's career too. To be honest even Holyfield's past-prime resume from Ruiz onwards s**ts on Fury's if you take Wlad out of the equation.

I like Tyson Fury but the truth is at the top level he's largely unproven and that's by design. That his upcoming fight with Dillian Whyte will on paper be the third best opponent of his entire career is damningly indicative of this. It's always "he would've beaten this guy" or "he would've beaten that guy". Sorry, but talk is cheap. It's immeasurably easier to pad out an undefeated record while claiming you're the best than it is to actually face the best and find out one way or the other.

Holyfield's an ATG. Fury hasn't even yet proven himself to be the best heavyweight of his era.

Stick to getting knocked out by UFC guys and getting way too much credit for beating the overrated Mike Tyson. This man shared 36 rounds with bum John Ruiz and there wasn't a blade of grass between them, yet we are constantly told that he is an ATG. He wouldn't be anything more than a lower tier contender in today's much stronger era. Nash out.

Let's be real to match holyfield career all Fury really has to do is fight Usyk and Joshua and a few mid tier guys, and if we are following the standard for greatness we allow Holyfield, Fury doesn't even have to WIN most of them.

Wlad was in his 30s when Fury beat him and in the prime of his life. Call it boring all you want, but to real boxing fans, it was an exhibition of elite skill. Nash considers it to be one of the best fights of all time and he watches it monthly. Nash out.
