Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor: I Don't Think There's Any Need For A Rematch With Catterall; I Took Over

Josh Taylor might move up from the junior welterweight limit of 140 pounds to the welterweight division for his next fight. Even if he decides to defend his IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO 140-pound championships again, the fully unified, undefeated champion doesn't see a reason why he should fight Jack Catterall a second time. England's Catterall gave Taylor the toughest fight of his pro career in their 12-rounder Saturday night in Glasgow, Scotland, but Taylor won a controversial split decision at The OVO Hydro.

Sorry Taylor but you are as ignorant and delusional as Lopez. You didn't take over, you were pathetic and lost that bout clearly. No longer a fan of yours dude

Lopez's "but but I win 10-2" excuse is better.

Jack might just have his number. 36 minutes probably taught him that.

This was so predictable. The truth is Taylor knows The Cat has his number and he can’t beat him by fair and honest means. He needs the help from his promoter and corrupt judges.

Lopez lost and then Taylor losses but because he is with Gangsters MTK Global he retains his titles. There is no way Whyte will get a decison over Fury even if he knocks him down 5 times. Taylor lost all 6 rounds and was dropped in round 8.

'Tart-Tomato' you clearly got washed in the first half of the fight, Jack gave you a boxing lesson ; then, by the eight-round you were nearly face-planted. So that leaves 4 rounds : in the 9th you deliberately headbutted Catterall, and may have won that round off that foul. In round 10, Marcus McDonald took a point from Jack for holding, so that distracted Catterall but you did nothing so that could be a even round.

In round 11 you wrestled Catterall to the ground and then got a point taken for punching after the break, but Jack kept a jab in Taylor's face and won the round. Finally in the 12th round, you were desperate and smothered your work but Jack Catterall although not as active landed the cleaner punches by the end.

Josh Taylor fought Jack Catterall's fight all night and looked like bum.

If Taylor actually believed he won, then that means Catterall hit him harder than i thought when he went down. Dillusional

I always said that Josh Taylor was an arrogant prick.

This clown should be sat at home with no belts.

He wasn't hit any harder than what you thought, he was hit as hard as we all saw him get hit.
He knows he lost this fight, and is lying to himself, not to us as he thinks he is.
He fought in his home town thought that he was going to put on a show for his fans, but got beat.
It is obvious that Catterall is a nightmare for him, one that he doesn't want to experience any time soon.
It is disheartening for the fans to see a deserving winner, suffer a loss due to the corruption of unscrupulous judge's.
It is absolutely crushing to the fighter who has given it his all in the fight only to have the win, and the title no less taken away from him.
