Yo, this all may be true, but I think it’s be good for everyone to remember that these Russian soldiers, as with soldiers round the world, are mostly economically poor kids from harsh backgrounds and limited options to actually make a living. A bit like the boxers we all love (and hate). I’ve also heard (perhaps mistakenly) that Russia have been conscripting fairly heavily, too.

Not saying this justifies war; Some Russian military personnel will be total ****s, and some probably have a hard on for nationalist politics, but really don’t wanna see anyone else getting blown away here. Hoping they sort this out without further loss, naturally.

In order for the Ukrainians to maintain their national sovereignty, they just kill as many of the enemy as they can for as long as they can and most importantly…stay alive. In war you fight to win, or not at all. And winning means denying the enemy safe ground, denying him logistical support, demoralising his support base, destroying his economic ability to sustain the fight, and filling and removing as many troops from the other side as you can. As a retired US Army Soldier I respect anyone who takes the oath to defend his nation, but romantic feelings of right and wrong and questioning the motives at the two way rifle range never factor into it. Can you imagine being a Russian war fighter finding himself with Loma in the trenches?
