Taylor should rematch Catterall in the summer, he can "probably" win that as tonight was likely to be Catteralls best while I think Taylor can probably do a bit better now he has 12 rounds vs him.

After that hope/pray that Crawford and or Spence move up and create a bit of a vaccum at 147, he's going to have very little to offer up at that weight but if his team is clever they can get him a couple more paydays and pick an easy vacant belt or a lesser champ at 147 if one comes avaliable and call himself a 2 weight champ. It's the Calzaghe blueprint but that's what I'd do if I was in charge of him.

'El Gato' Is the #1. jr. welterweight in the world. I think its hilarious and fitting that the biggest underdog of Josh Taylor's career beat him, what a clown

There is relatively little money in him rematching v Caterall, and the risk of him getting beat again is too high, and will end his P4P ambitions. Undisputed fights are rare. They are even more rare to happen domestically in the UK. No one in the rest of the world has any idea who Jack Caterall is. And even though this was a disgusting decision, and as unfair as it is, still no one cares who Caterall is. In a perfect world Caterall gets another shot. But we all know that's not how business works in this sport.

Maybe he does need to move up a weight. But if he steps in with Crawford he is getting demolished he is no where near on Buds level.

My thoughts exactly. Taylor won his other fights fair and square so not a fraud. Taylor looked terrible at the weigh in and in the fight so the weight cutting has probably caught up with him. Catterall's style and skills would always cause him some problems though

I think sky can promote a rematch to do very good numbers in the UK, play the England vs Scotland angle, there's controversy, if they lean into it I genuinely think they can make a pretty big fight out of it.

Taylor's argument will be that he has nothing left to prove at jr welter. And he doesn't have the charisma or pull of other British champs like Hatton, Fury, Frampton etc. Top Rank won't let him stay at 140. He is an asset and they won't risk him losing his 0 to an unknown like Caterall, before he eventually goes up to 147 which he will do.

I agree. Couple that with fighting st home and after a layoff. This fight was also very mental. The gameplan for Taylor was to knock Cat around and out. But the elite gameplan came from Catterall’s corner. Unfortunately Jack isn’t an elite fighter. But….Taylor doesn’t have an elite corner. So it played out like this.

At 147, Taylor better come correct because he got dropped by a B level fighter and showed little ring IQ in the form of adjustments to the same goddamn 1-2 combo all fight.

Could also be him trying to weight Bully and Suck Down one more time backfired as well

He is a HUGE 140 so I doubt he is making that weight easily anymore but also big credit to Catterall too who is a STRONG 140 so Taylor could not bully him on the inside and use his size advantage at all because Catterall wasn't having any of it

Also Taylor's Dirtiness needs to be talked about MORE. The Punches to the back of the head and him never breaking cleaning and seeming to always get a extra shot while the Ref is trying to break and getting away with it repeatedly. Go back and watch that Ramirez fight, just when Bayless looked like he was ready to step in and break he gets this shot off.

Now this might actually be more on Ramirez for not protecting himself at All Times as well and Kenny Bayless not jumping in the middle of that quicker but still he does this A LOT and did it vs Catterall on top of the shots to the back of the head REPEATEDLY

Not being able to make weight easily is no excuse for getting tagged by basic 1-2s all damn night long. And yes he's dirty on the inside, but that's just what it is I guess. If he carries that on in the US vs a US fighter he's going to be exposed even more, they won't let him get away with that at all.
